NORTHWORKS – PHILADELPHIA STUDIO Architectural Roles: Project Associate, Project Manager/Architect, Senior Architect
ABOUT US Northworks is a national architecture and design firm founded on a shared passion for the built environment. We are growing our Philadelphia studio and are seeking talented team members across multiple experience levels. You’ll work closely with our studios across the country on a diverse range of project types while contributing to thoughtful, high-quality design.
PROJECT ASSOCIATE RESPONSIBILITIES • Support project teams in developing design concepts, drawings, and documentation. • Produce accurate Revit and AutoCAD drawings across all project phases. • Assist with 3D modeling, renderings, diagrams, and presentation materials. • Participate in internal design discussions, coordination meetings, and project research. • Assist with research and project documentation. • Participate in site visits and assist with construction administration as needed. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited architecture program. • 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in an architectural office. • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design software. • Strong design sensibility, graphic skills, and attention to detail. • Ability to work in an in-person Philadelphia studio setting.
PROJECT MANAGER/ARCHITECT RESPONSIBILITIES • Contribute to design development, technical documentation, and project coordination. • Produce and refine detailed Revit/AutoCAD drawings, models, and specifications. • Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and internal project teams. • Participate in client meetings and contribute to presentations. • Conduct site visits and support construction administration. • Mentor and support Project Associates while working closely with senior staff. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. • 3–6 years of professional experience in an architectural office. • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design software. • Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills. • Architecture licensure is preferred but not required. • Ability to work in an in-person office setting.
SENIOR ARCHITECT RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead and oversee major architectural projects from concept through construction. • Serve as the primary client, consultant, and contractor contact. • Develop, review, and present design proposals, renderings, and presentations. • Manage project schedules, budgets, workflows, and team resources. • Conduct site visits and lead all phases of construction administration. • Lead small design teams (typically 1–3 team members) and promote a collaborative environment. • Mentor staff across all levels, supporting their technical and professional growth. • Contribute to firm-wide initiatives and studio knowledge sharing. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited architecture program. • 7–10+ years of relevant architectural experience, including leadership responsibilities. • Architectural license required. • Expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design software. • Proven experience managing diverse project types—residential, commercial, hospitality, etc. • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills. • Ability to work in an in-person office setting.
