The Plumber will perform maintenance, inspection, repair, replacement, and installation work on plumbing systems, sewer line systems, or distribution lines that are both exterior and interior to facilities. Work involves measuring, cutting, threading, bending, and assembling pipe; troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, or replacing fittings, fixtures, and components; and utilizing plumbing and pipefitting installation drawings, blueprints, and schematics. This position will assist other trades employees or supervisors with complex plumbing projects and assigning and demonstrating plumbing related tasks to other trades and maintenance employees during the completion of a specific work-order. Work is performed independently and checked upon completion for adherence to guidelines and quality and timeliness standards.

Hourly Rate: $20.21 plus comprehensive benefits starting on the first day of employment, including:
Health insurance – Low bi-weekly premium. Employees pay 5% of bi-weekly salary for benefit coverage with ability to pay 2.5% when participating in the wellness program.

Work is performed in a variety of environmental conditions – heat, humidity, rain, snow, sleet, windstorms, etc.
Work is both indoors and outdoors all year round.
Work environment may be dry, wet, humid, noisy from other construction activities or operation of building equipment.
Will encounter presence of dust, odors, debris, chemicals, mold, ACM, lead based paint and other potentially hazardous materials.
May have to work in cramped spaces or otherwise uncomfortable positions in the performance of assigned tasks.
May encounter pressurized systems (gas, steam, compressed air, high pressure water systems, etc.).
Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, when necessary, hard hats, respirators, eye protection, hearing protection, etc.
Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Occasionally must work outside for up to 8 hours a day.
Ability to stand for long lengths of time.
Able to reach and lift above shoulders, have full operation of arms and hands, squat, stoop/bend, stretch, twist, have fine and gross manipulation of hands, simple and power grasp, and twist hands and wrists.

This position is designated an essential employee position. Employee is expected to report to work during their designated shift during emergency situations, university closures or delays. Work performed during these events will require duties typically outside normal job duties and functions such as shoveling snow or assisting in storm recovery activities.
