The Plumber 2 plans and executes plumbing and pipefitting repair, replacement, remodeling, and installation projects and tasks. Work involves developing plans and estimates for the design, installation, and maintenance of plumbing projects; developing the project lay out and procedures through the review and application of blueprints, building codes, and specifications; and coordinating, assigning, overseeing, and reviewing plumbing related work performed by lower-level employees during these projects. Work includes creating plumbing or pipefitting installation diagrams and drawings; locating the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures; and performing plumbing and piping installations, repairs, and alterations, including testing and inspecting completed work. Work may include planning, delivering, or coordinating plumbing related training for lower-level employees; and ensuring plumbing related contracted services are performed to specification. Work is performed independently and reviewed upon completion by a supervisor for quality and timeliness.

Hourly Rate: $23.27 plus comprehensive benefits starting on the first day of employment, including:
Health insurance – Low bi-weekly premium. Employees pay 5% of bi-weekly salary for benefit coverage with ability to pay 2.5% when participating in the wellness program.

Work is performed in a variety of environmental conditions – heat, humidity, rain, snow, sleet, windstorms, etc.
Work is both indoors and outdoors all year round.
Work environment may be dry, wet, humid, noisy from other construction activities or operation of building equipment.
Will encounter presence of dust, odors, debris, chemicals, mold, ACM, lead based paint and other potentially hazardous materials.
May have to work in cramped spaces or otherwise uncomfortable positions in the performance of assigned tasks.
May encounter pressurized systems (gas, steam, compressed air, high pressure water systems, etc.).
Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, when necessary, hard hats, respirators, eye protection, hearing protection, etc.
Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Occasionally must work outside for up to 8 hours a day.
Ability to stand for long lengths of time.
Able to reach and lift above shoulders, have full operation of arms and hands, squat, stoop/bend, stretch, twist, have fine and gross manipulation of hands, simple and power grasp, and twist hands and wrists.

This position is designated an essential employee position. Employee is expected to report to work during their designated shift during emergency situations, university closures or delays.
