A specialized contractor, located just outside of Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Mechanical Detailer.

Responsibilities:

  • Create the necessary fabrication and installation drawings as required by Project Management.
  • Work with project planning and production to determine client needs and develop solutions to successfully deliver to company and client expectations.
  • Create drawings for prototypes and mockups for submittal to customer presentations.
  • Sketch concepts for conceptual brainstorming as well as for presentation.
  • Participate in Design/Engineering scope reviews.
  • Maintain file location and revisions according to shop drawing procedure.
  • Participate with Design/Engineering and Production to troubleshoot manufacturing and fabrication solutions.
  • Understand manufacturing/fabrication processes and shop production methodology.
  • Understand current trends, materials and innovations for industry products.

Qualifications:

  • AS Degree in Drafting and Design highly desired
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Detailer in the fabrication and/or construction industry
  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD 2D and Autodesk Inventor; AutoCAD 3D and Revit a plus
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Any experience with ERP software highly desired (DRADIS proprietary software and FileMaker)
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication, installation and basic construction techniques (welding procedures, forming, bending, coping, lamination, glue, paint, etc.)
  • Attention to detail when revising drawings, maintain accuracy with markups, dimensions and views
  • Understand and take responsibility for stringent timelines and due dates
  • Have knowledge of the RFI process and how to generate questions clearly and concisely
  • Understand basic procurement practices and procedures
  • Must display excellent communication skills when interacting with management, employees, and customers

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-4:00pm and Fridays, 7:00am-12:00pm
