The University of Pittsburgh's Facilities Management AVC Department is seeking an Electrical Engineer (EE). This position will maintain accurate as-builts of campus power systems; develop and execute electric metering and power systems preventative maintenance, testing, repair, and upgrade plans; perform power quality troubleshooting; develop, promote, and implement electrical energy conservation measures (ECMs) and obtain utility company energy efficiency rebates; and review project construction documents for compliance with University standards and goals.
The EE will also manage the development of construction drawings and specifications for specific electrical projects, including determining user needs, defining scope of professional services, and providing both written and verbal communications to convey information critical to the Project's technical, financial, and budgetary concerns with the project team. During construction the EE will assist the project manager and Senior EE as required to assure contractor and in-house trade compliance with construction documents, schedule, and budget. This position requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and two plus years' experience working in an engineering office--preferably on higher education projects. PE preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University is required. Two to four years of experience in design is preferred. Engineering experience in higher education/campus environment is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment is required. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is strongly preferred.
