We are searching for a Second Shift Supervisor/Zone Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, organizing and directing the activities of work groups performing maintenance, testing, construction and renovation work on electrical and electrical distribution systems and equipment. Additionally, you will ensure corrections of any performance, electrical code and safety deficiencies. You will also plan and coordinate jobs to meet customer schedules and to optimize the efficiency of the work group and of other work groups within the division. Working with FMS staff, you will oversee the work of outside contractors to supplement the scheduled maintenance work group. Additionally, you will develop and implement detailed work plans and cost center budgets to ensure that personnel, materials and tools are available to meet required schedules and budgets.
Job Functions/Core Responsibilities:
Assign personnel to jobs, oversee work, monitor jobs progress and review completed jobs for quality and timely completion.
Coordinate work with other shops, contractors and construction supervisors to insure timely completion of work and continuity of service.
Develop and handle the training of shop personnel so that they can effectively and safely repair and maintain all assigned system.
Handle personnel issues within different areas of maintenance. Hire and evaluate personnel. Handle vacation schedules and insure other time-off taken is in accordance with University policies.
Maintain communications with customers and work management personnel to insure work definition is clearly understood and that shop actions meet customer and partner requirements.
Plan and evaluate preventative maintenance activities to insure reliability and efficiency of systems.
Work with others to develop plans and budgets for programmed system and equipment.
Procure materials for jobs and to maintain shop inventory of critical items.
Obtain the services of outside contractors to perform work which cannot be performed by in-house efforts.
Provide estimates and fixed price quotations to customers.
Review design and construction documents for compliance with University standards.
Perform on-site inspection of renovation/construction jobs for quality and conformance with plans and specifications.
Attend management meetings that will be outside of second shift time frame.

Visual acuity to perform activities such as extended use of a computer monitor, extensive reading, transcribing, analyzing data and figures.
Able to travel across campus for meetings and facility related work.
High school degree or equivalent required.
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience required.
Prior supervisory or lead experience is highly desired.
