The Facilities Management and Campus Services (FMCS) group is searching for a Zone Manager / Facilities Management Supervisor. You will be responsible for managing, organizing and directing the activities of work groups performing maintenance, testing, construction and renovation work on electrical and electrical distribution systems and equipment. Ensures corrections of any performance, electrical code and safety deficiencies. You will also plan and coordinate jobs to meet customer schedules and to optimize the efficiency of the work group and of other work groups within Facilities Management Services. You will work with FMCS staff to oversee the work of outside contractors to supplement the scheduled maintenance work group, develop and implement detailed work plans ensuring that personnel, materials and tools are available to meet required schedules and budgets.
Core responsibilities will include:
Assigning personnel to jobs, oversee work, monitor jobs progress and review completed jobs for quality and timely completion;
Coordinating work with other shops, contractors and construction supervisors to insure timely completion of work and continuity of service;
Developing and handling the training of shop personnel so that they can effectively and safely repair and maintain all assigned system;
Handling personnel issues within different areas of maintenance; Hiring and evaluating personnel; Handling vacation schedules and insure other time-off taken is in accordance with University policies;
Maintaining communications with customers and work management personnel to insure work definition is clearly understood and that shop actions meet customer and partner requirements;
Planning and evaluating preventative maintenance activities to insure reliability and efficiency of systems;
Working with others to develop plans and budgets for programmed system and equipment;
Procuring materials for jobs and to maintain shop inventory of critical items;
Obtaining the services of outside contractors to perform work which cannot be performed by in-house efforts;
Providing estimates and fixed price quotations to customers;
Reviewing design and construction documents for compliance with University standards;
Performing on-site inspection of renovation/construction jobs for quality and conformance with plans and specifications;
Attending management meetings that will be outside of second shift timeframe;
Other duties as assigned.

Visual acuity to perform activities such as extended use of a computer monitor, extensive reading, transcribing, analyzing data and figures;
Able to travel across campus for meetings and facility related work.
High school degree or equivalent required;
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience required;
Prior supervisory or lead experience is preferred.
