Sr. Project Manager - Campus Design and Facility Development-2011008
Campus Design and Facility Development (CDFD) is responsible for the planning, acquisition, design, construction and renovation of university facilities. Carnegie Mellon University is searching for a Sr. Project Manager to join our CDFD team. This is an exciting opportunity if you have project management experience in the design/architecture field or engineering and construction who is looking for an impactful role with a rapidly growing and changing organization. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of minor, moderate and large complex projects for the university.
Core responsibilities will include:
Meeting with department customer representatives to determine project estimates
Vendor fee negotiations
Preparation and review of construction documents
Budget and schedule construction administration
This position may manage the selection of work and act as interface with applicable architect, engineer and outside contractors as assigned
You will manage assigned projects through the conceptual design, construction, bid and closeout phases. This is a high-visibility role where you will interact with campus constituents ranging from students to faculty to senior administration. A strong focus on customer service is key to success.
You will have excellent communication, organizational, negotiation, and problem solving skills. Ideally you will bring related specialty experience to the role, preferably prior experience as a vendor or contractor with CMU. You will have limited travel and will primarily be based on the Pittsburgh CMU campus.

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum 8-10 years of project management experience required, with at least 1-3 years in facilities management highly desired
PMP certification highly desired
Familiarity and/or prior work experience with the CMU campus preferred
Professional Engineer License preferred
